Gábor Ferenczi is a Hungarian film director, screenwriter, and actor. After graduating from the Budapest University of Technology and working for several years as a designer and construction engineer, he earned his degree in Film and Television Directing from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 1984, where he studied under Zoltán Fábri.
As an independent filmmaker, he has directed documentaries, fiction films, television programmes, and commercials, while also working as a script consultant and dramaturg on numerous productions. Between 1984 and 1988, he was a member of the board of the Béla Balázs Studio.
Since 2003, he has taught filmmaking at various film schools. He currently leads practical courses in fiction and documentary filmmaking at ELTE’s Department of Film Studies and the University of Theatre and Film Arts. He is a recipient of the Balázs Béla Award.
