Boris Labbé is a French artist, animator, and filmmaker whose work moves between animation, contemporary art, and audiovisual performance. Trained at the École supérieure d'art de Tarbes and the École de cinéma d'animation d'Angoulême, his work has been presented at contemporary art exhibitions, international film festivals, and audiovisual concerts around the world.
His short film La Chute was selected for a Special Screening at Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. In 2020, he collaborated with choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, creating the video scenography for Swan Lake. His films and video installations have received around 70 awards and distinctions internationally, including the Golden Nica for Animation at Ars Electronica and the Grand Prix at the Japan Media Arts Festival.
Between 2023 and 2024, he developed two major projects: Ito Meikyū, his first virtual reality work, and Glass House, a video scenography created in collaboration with composer Lucas Fagin. In 2024, Ito Meikyū received the Venice Immersive Grand Prize at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
