Milos TOMIC (SRB)

Miloš Tomić is a film director and animator, also active in the fields of visual arts and education. He is a multiple award-winner at festivals worldwide.

He studied film directing in Belgrade, and completed his master’s and PhD studies in multimedia animation at FAMU in Prague. His short film “Spitted by Kiss” was the Czech national nominee for the Student Oscars. With “Musical Diaries”, he represented Serbia at the Venice Biennale in 2013.

Since 1993, he has created over 60 diverse short films and animated works, primarily as writer, director, lead animator, and cinematographer — and occasionally as an actor or editor. His films have been screened at numerous international festivals.

Beyond filmmaking, Tomić is active on the contemporary art scene, exhibiting photo-collages, found and made objects, drawings, and photographs in galleries, as well as creating street installations and participating in live performances. Since 2005, he has been actively involved in education, leading more than a hundred workshops in over 33 cities across Europe.

He is engaged in documenting moments from everyday life, collecting unusual objects, noting down bizarre, overheard conversations — and persistently working on his films, which, slowly but surely, roll toward completion.
