Daniel Šuljić is an animation film director and musician, the Artistic Director of Animafest Zagreb, the Head of the Department of Animation and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
He studied painting and animation at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. His films have been shown at hundreds of international film festivals, as well as on various TV channels across Europe, and have received numerous international awards. He has served on the juries of many festivals. He was a lecturer at the University of Art and Design in Linz, and he was given the title of honorary professor at the Animation School of Jilin College of the Arts in China. From 2010 to 2012, he served as the commissioner for animated film at the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, he was a member of the cultural council for film of the City of Zagreb. From 2018 to 2020, he was the Croatian ambassador of the European Animation Awards Emile, and he is currently a member of the board of the award.
