masterclass
In Viktória Traub’s animated short films, duality is a recurring motif. Her characters are often both human and animal at once, a dual identity that creates tension and dissonance within them. Hybrid figures have become essential creative tools in her two most recent works (“Mermaids and Rhinos” and “Shoes and Hooves”). In her lecture, the director will talk about her earlier films, her fascination with mythological creatures, the dramaturgical potential of hybrid figures, and the pitfalls of character design. In other words: mermaids, rhinos, centaurs, and crocodiles. She will also present her new project cur - rently in development, “Filly”.
